Dear Families,

Welcome to our class web page!

As many of you are already aware, all PWCS will be closed to students until April 14th. During this time, I am here to support you and to help you provide learning opportunities for your child at home. If you have not already, please sign up for access to our Class Dojo as I find it a quick, fun and effective way to share information with you especially during this time.

During this time, students should be reading 3 to 5 books with you daily. It would also be a good idea if you encouraged them to get on Dreambox for at least 15 minutes a day.

I will continue to send out word lists and you can have the students practice writing the words in sentences or using the words to write cool stories that they can share with you and your families. Before the announcement of our extended absence we were to begin our poetry unit so it would be a good idea to talk about poems or nursery rhymes that you know with your student and use them to review rhyming words.

In addition to Dreambox please have your students practice their addition and subtraction skills up to sums of ten. The students can practice making up story problems using their names and interests. Have them talk the problem out. Is it addition or subtraction? How do you know? Students should also practice telling time to the hour and half hour, counting coins, and skip counting by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's.

I will also continue to post helpful links through the website and through our Class Dojo during this challenging time. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me through our Dojo or email me at

Thank you for being a part of your child's learning team. We will get through this together.

Hello! My Name is Ms. Williams and I am your child's first grade teacher. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and I have worked in the county for over eight years with the first six years of my teaching career spent teaching kindergarten. This is my second year teaching first grade and I absolutely love it! The students and I learn so much from each other every day!
