Hello everyone! As things are changing I wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page with what units of study we are on. Please use this website to stay up-to-date with classroom activities and announcements. There is a number of engaging resources to support and continue learning at home in the Useful Links and Files and Documents tab.
I encourage that you have your child read daily! Ask them about what they are reading.
Need a fun game? Ask your child to teach you how to play multiplication war. All you need is a deck of cards.
Please note that Dreambox, Lexia, Prodigy, and EPIC are all resources that can be used at any time.

If you have any questions or need anything at all, please don't hesitate to reach out via Class Dojo or through email at sinclaas@pwcs.edu. I am happy to help in any way that I can!

Units Of Study

Math - number sense, place value, addition and subtraction.
This unit includes: reading and writing numbers with 6 digits, rounding numbers 9,999 or less (rounding to the tens, hundreds, and thousands place), adding and subtracting numbers 9,999 or less, counting money up to $5.00, and making change up to $5.00. There is a file filled with all of the math vocabulary words used in third grade.  You do not need to print these.  Go through and see what words you know.  For the words you don't know, you could create flashcards and practice!

Reading- we are currently on our 45 day plan which is a review of all concepts that have been taught. This includes both fiction and nonfiction texts. Within those texts students are to make predictions, summarize, find the main idea and details, summarize plot events, and make inferences.

Writing - we were in the process of creating a research project. From there we were moving onto opinion writing.

Social Studies- we were focusing on the ancient civilization of China and Egypt.
Science - we were focused on ecosystems and the different components and moving onto soil.
