• 1964

  Fannie W. Fitzgerald was one of three teachers who led the way in desegregating Prince William County Schools in 1964.

  Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School serves more than 800 students whose diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives strengthen the school community.

• 2008

  Fannie Fitzgerald Elementary, opened in 2008 on Benita Fitzgerald Drive in Dale City. The school was built on a road named for the late Fitzgerald’s daughter, Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, who won a gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles in the 1984 Olympics.
