Principal George Wright

To the families of the Fitzgerald Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Fitzgerald Elementary School! I am honored to serve and work with the students, families, and staff of the Fitzgerald community! We can expect to experience great things together in the future! I earned my Master of Arts degree in education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and my Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State University. During my tenure in Prince William County, I've served as a 5th grade teacher at Bel Air and Elizabeth Vaughan Elementary schools, administrative intern at Featherstone Elementary, and more recently, assistant principal at Kyle R. Wilson Elementary. I am passionate about educational pedagogy and have led and coordinated specialized learning experiences in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M), enrichment, intervention, and remediation.

I believe in a progressive educational experience that promotes cultural and social sensitivity, community relations, and the development of the whole child. As your principal, I will contribute to the learning process of the Fitzgerald community by working collaboratively to maintain a dynamic, thoughtful, and inclusive community for all! We will consider context and student interest when designing meaningful learning experiences for kids.

I look forward to "Lighting the Way to the Future" with you! Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 703-583-4195.

Sincerely,

George Wright Principal
